Ethics & Ethos

Seventies Soul is committed to making eco-conscious & ethical decisions whenever possible, to maintain the sustainable ethos at the heart of the business. Our four key values are:

Sustainable handmade clothing - using pre-loved, recycled, & low-impact materials.
Small batch, limited-edition collections - avoiding mass production of garments and dead-stock waste.
Slow fashion garment production - protecting and respecting the work of our manufacturing team of artisans. Whilst prioritising quality over quantity.
Eco-friendly packaging, compostable mailers, recycled tissue paper - 100% non-toxic & plastic fee.

All of our collections are consciously curated with people and planet in mind.

Seventies Soul works with small scale family owned businesses in Jaipur, which promote safe working conditions and fair wages for all workers. The artisans behind our collections source sustainably and organically grown fibers from mother nature, to make our clothing. For example, all the pigments & colours used to make the fabric dye are gathered from plants, flowers, fruits and vegetables - without the use of harsh chemicals or synthetic materials. We also work with communities across India who salvage deadstock and pre-loved silk sarees from landfill waste, and create them into beautiful bohemian clothing for our recycled silk collections. By working with groups of manufactures who align with our ethos, we are able to support ancient traditions, such as block printing and promote the skills of small producers and local artisans.
